Middle School
Students
in the Middle School (Grades 6 to 8) aim to discover where their
strengths lie and offers them the basis for an informed choice when
they opt for GCSE subjects at the end of Grade 8. As students progress
to the Middle School they further refine the core interdisciplinary
skills initiated in the Primary School and have more subject specialist
teachers guiding them in the fundamental subject specific skills that
they will require for higher studies in related areas.
Students
have a broad and balanced range of subjects with their freedom of
choice limited to language selection. The programme on offer ensures
that students have the opportunity to develop in all relevant areas
from physical, technical, creative, numerate and deductive, rational
and experimental, empathic and evaluative and communication in more
than one language.
The Middle School programme is based on a high
school-style timetable, where specialised teachers are used for all
subjects. Students' organisation skills are tested and developed with
the tutor teacher playing an important role. Tutors work closely with
the heads of grade to ensure the students' pastoral needs are
well-catered for and students are happily and progressing at a suitable
rate.
